Supra – French manufacturing company stoves, fireplaces and individual fireboxes. There are since 1878 and is located in the province of Alsace, where winters are quite cold.

The company is engaged in its own developments, and therefore the products are distinguished by quality and innovation in production.

Supra Fireplace Stove Models

There are many varieties of these ovens. But the most popular brands are Tomera and Ulysse.

Reference. Stoves and fireplaces come with a guarantee for 5 years, although in fact they last much longer.

Tomera or Tomera

The stove is made of high quality cast iron (EN GJL 200) and is painted with black heat-resistant paint. During the first firing, polymerization occurs, and such a coating lasts for quite a long time.

The stove has a vertical orientation. Its height is 1220 mm, depth - 450 mm, and the width is 510 mm. The weight, like all cast iron stoves, is quite large, 161 kg. But it does not require a separate foundation.

The casing is convection, with a gap between the outer and inner walls. Due to this, the case does not heat up very much, therefore this model can be placed against a wall.

The door is single-leaf with a glass insert, which allows you to observe the combustion process. The glass is also located vertically, its height is about a meter, the review is quite good. Equipped with an oblong-shaped lock handle. There is an air cleaning system "clean glass"The stove works better when using dry firewood.

Furnace power – 14 kW, it is designed to heat a room with a volume of about 300 cubic meters. This indicator may vary. If there is insufficient insulation, it is suitable for smaller rooms, from 150 cubic meters. And with ideal insulation, if heat loss is reduced to a minimum, it will heat up to 500–550 cubic meters.

Important! Supra Tomera has a secondary combustion chamber, so it is a long-burning device. When loaded with fuel, it heats the room up to 10 o'clock. The efficiency is about 78%.

Heated with wood, the required size is up to 500 mm. This is quite convenient, as they do not require additional sawing in length. The ash pan is removable, so it is quite convenient to clean.

The chimney outlet is rear or top. Pipe size – 150 mm, the height should be not less than 5 meters, since the structure is quite large.

Ulysses

This is also a cast iron stove, which, thanks to the glass doors, is also used as a fireplace. But there are certain differences between the models.

Ulysse by Supra has a different coatingThe surface of the walls resembles fish scales, and they are painted with black enamel.

The stove is also vertical, but the dimensions are different. The height is only 1160 mm, depth and width - by 480 mm. At the same time, the model is somewhat heavier, its weight is 174 kgThis is due to design features, including the smaller size of the glass in the door.

Fireplace power – 10 kW. This is enough to heat approximately 300 cubic meters premises. There is no secondary combustion chamber in the stove itself. Therefore, the heat will not be retained for as long as in the Tomera model. Efficiency - 74%.

The stove is heated with wood. Their maximum size is 500 mm when positioned vertically and 300 mm - when horizontal.

The similarities between these models include a convection casing, which allows for wall-mounted placement. The same size of the chimney pipe – 150 mm And not less than 5 meters in height.

Recommendations for choosing Supra stoves

Both of these models are suitable for heating rooms with a volume of up to 300 cubic meters (and even more with good insulation of walls, floors and roofs). But there are also discrepancies.

The most important thing is presence or absence of a long-term combustion system. Therefore, if a fireplace stove is chosen as the main heating device for the home, it is better to choose Supra Tomera. If long continuous burning without loading firewood is not required, the Ulysse model will do.

Attention! When using the oven must be protected from impacts, for example, when objects fall.

Pros and cons of devices

Products of this company are distinguished by their strength and durability. They have a pretty thoughtful design.

Thanks to the vertical orientation and the ability to install against a wall, the stoves will not take up too much space. Since the doors are glass, the models are also used as fireplaces.

But, like all cast iron stoves, they quite fragile. Care should be taken during transportation and installation.

We have been using the Tomera Supra stove at our dacha for the second year. It heats up a room of 100 square meters fairly quickly. There is a long-burning mode, but this is more for maintaining the temperature. I noticed that if you put damp firewood in the stove, the glass gets covered with soot faster. It retains heat well: after the firewood has completely burned out, the stove is still warm for about 5 hours.

I really liked the French fireplace stove Supra Tomera for heating the house. It has a long-burning mode without additional loading of firewood, which is very important when heating the house. In addition, it looks quite attractive and has an impressive glass firebox door, it allows you to see all the flames when burning firewood. One of its advantages is the ability to install it even without a foundation, although it is quite heavy, and the presence of an additional casing will save space and install it closer to the wall.
