Home heaters are devices that producing heat into the environment through a heating element.

The choice of the device depends on its purpose, the size of the room, the type of building. The cost of the unit also plays a significant role.

Types of heaters for home, which are better

Exists many varieties heating devices, which are based on different operating principles.

Oil

Photo 2

The oil radiator is unpretentious and works up to several days in a row. Suitable for medium heating of a small room, not of the corner type. Manufactured by companies Electrolux, Timberk, Supra, BORK, Hyundai, Neoclima.

An analysis of consumer and expert feedback shows that the products of some concerns, for example, Supra, not worth taking into account due to low quality.

Externally, the radiator resembles a regular battery, consisting of:

  • from a hermetically sealed housing;
  • from heating element;
  • from a vessel with oil;
  • from the switch;
  • from the tipper sensor (not in all models);
  • from the overheating protection system;
  • from the thermostat;
  • from the level switch.

Located inside the device, The heating element heats up and heats the container with oil. The air is saturated with heat within half an hour. Some models, for example, from the company General, are equipped with a fan that accelerates heat exchange.

Pros: The units are easy to handle, do not overheat, are safe for children, are portable and lightweight.

Disadvantages of the device: high price (from 1600 rubles) with a relatively low thermal effect, burning out oxygen. Care must be taken not to allow the oil inside the device to overheat.

Air electric convector

The room is filled with warmth due to the spread of hot airCold air is supplied to the device body by means of a fan and comes out heated.

Photo 1. Electric convector for heating the house from the manufacturer Flamingo. The device is white and has quite compact dimensions.

The maximum heating level is 60 degrees Celsius, which prevents the oxygen from burning out in the room. It is allowed to install the heater next to any materials, including wood.

Important! The operation of the device depends on uninterrupted air circulation, therefore Do not cover the heater!

For a room where it is necessary to maintain a certain temperature, devices are optimal: equipped with an electronic thermostat. The latter is a mechanism that limits the heating of the heating element and, as a consequence, the saturation of the air with heat.

The range of heaters in household and construction supermarkets is varied. Cheap convectors have a primitive and crude adjustment mechanism. It is not always possible to achieve the desired temperature with its help. For unheated sheds, summer cottages and country houses, where the main task is to warm up as quickly as possible, a device with two heating categories is appropriate. For a simple unheated room the regulator is set to maximum.

The electronic heater regulates the heat to a tenth of a degree, and operates automatically. The simplest model costs from 2000 rubles. The price of more functional heaters reaches 10,000-14,000 rubles. Popular models of companies Hyundai, Nobo, Timberk, Noirot.

Pros: Affordable price, safety, ease of use.

Cons: high electricity consumption.

Fan heater

The fan forces air, which is then heated and released into the environment.

The units are produced by concerns Timberk, Moscow Engineering Center, Ballu, Electrolux.

The fan heater consists of:

  • from the fan;
  • made of heat-resistant housing;
  • from a heating element (tubular, ceramic or spiral).

It occurs more often than others spiral element. It consists of a nichrome wire wound around a heat-resistant base.

Pros: This type of device is easy to use, quickly warms up the air, makes it comfortable, does not burn out oxygen. Even families with limited financial resources can afford to buy a fan heater.

Attention! The many advantages do not outweigh the undeniable disadvantage of the heater - fire hazard. The fan heater is absolutely not suitable for families with small children.

The cost of the device starts from 700 rubles.

Infrared heater

This is a modern and safe device for heating air. Externally, the device is similar to a fluorescent lamp. It includes:

  • metal body covered with heat-resistant enamel;
  • heating element;
  • thermal insulator;
  • indicator;
  • fasteners;
  • protective screen;
  • switch.

Using an infrared heater any room is filled with warmth: offices, living rooms, summer houses, even glazed loggias on the balcony. This is especially important for those who decided to make the loggia residential and equip it with something like an office, bedroom or nursery. The removal of a regular battery to the outer wall is prohibited by law and is considered illegal redevelopment. An infrared panel will come to the rescue, other heaters are useless here.

Pros:

  • high efficiency percentage;
  • rapid air heating;
  • safety (the heater is suitable even for houses with children);
  • portability;
  • ease of installation;
  • energy saving;
  • absence of noise;
  • several heating levels.

Among the disadvantages of the device — radiation intensity and degree of heating of elements. The first should not exceed 350 W/m2. Maximum temperature of the radiating elements of the heater — 200 degrees Celsius, otherwise the room will overheat.

The price for this type of device starts from from 2 thousand rubles. The most popular devices were those of the following companies: Electrolux, PION, Ballu, Neoclima.

The device's portal contains a special panel in the form of a hearth. Decorative elements are installed in the center: wood-colored plastic to simulate firewood, and cut red and orange heat-resistant fabric to represent flames. At the bottom of the heater is a fan to supply air and a heating element.

When the fireplace is turned on, the incandescent lamp heats up and illuminates the “wood”, creating the illusion of burning. The fan sways the silk strips, and the wind from it drives the heat from the bottom up. Under the imitation of firewood in some fireplaces there is a reflector, making the illusion of burning logs more realistic.

The heating element or spiral is located at the top or bottom of the fireplace. Air is forced into the body and simultaneously cooled by a fan. Some devices are equipped with sound acoustic systems to reproduce the sound of crackling flames in the fireplace.

Pros: rich decor and intense heating.

Cons: high cost and energy consumption.

Electric fireplace prices start from 10,000 rubles, more expensive devices cost aboutt 25 thousand. At the same time, the heating capabilities and operating principle of the devices are the same.

Electric fireplaces are produced by companies Alex Bauman, Dimplex, Elliot, Moscow Engineering Center.

Heating panel

The operation of the heater is based on radiation from special elements of the device by means of electric current.

Such panels are placed on the walls of offices, private houses, living rooms, cottages. The device is not dangerous for children. The unconditional advantages of the heating panel include:

  • ease of installation;
  • affordable price;
  • safety;
  • the ability to select a unit of the required power;
  • service life minimum twenty five years old;
  • 8 year warranty from the manufacturer.

There are practically no downsides, the load on the electricity meter is not too high.

Important! For such a heater, the maximum ceiling height in the room is three meters.

The most popular devices are those from Ballu, "Moscow Engineering Center".

Which option to choose for your home

When choosing a heater for an apartment or house, focus not only on the price of the device. First of all, answer the questions: what room requires heat, what material the building is made of, who will use the heater. The device must be safe, no matter whether there are children in the house or not.

Photo 8

Purchasing a fire-hazardous device will save money at the purchase stage, but risks resulting in expenses for the restoration of a burnt-out house.

Needs attention and power level. Despite the wide range of models with a relatively gentle level of power consumption and affordable prices, remember that a small, cheap and weak unit will not warm anyone. Any device will create a load on the meter.

There are special tables for calculating the power level. Ask the consultant for information about the heat loss of the device. Room 1.5 kW is enough for 10 sq. m (1 kW for auxiliary heating). For halls about 30 square meters the device is weaker 2.5 kW (2 kW) will turn out to be a waste of money.

Consider your health needs and the age of family members, since the level of dry air directly affects people’s well-being.

    Yes, it is not economical. But what can we do, we live outside the city, in a house with boiler heating (one large stove for the whole house, a two-story house, several apartments. Heat is transferred through radiators). And such a thing as a heater is a salvation for us, especially in winter. We have an oil heater - zanussi (8 sections). Its power is enough to heat 20 m squared. Turning it on for two or three hours, you can warm up not only the room but also the floor well. It does not eat much energy, but it burns oxygen a lot. Although as far as I know, oil heaters are more gentle and safe for living spaces. So, pay more or less, and no one wants to freeze. And if you choose a heater for an apartment, it is better to opt for an oil heater (for the reasons mentioned above).

    Any heater is an additional load on the apartment's electrical network! As the owner of an old apartment in a panel house (1976), it is very difficult for me to combine the work of two powerful consumers. For example, you can no longer turn on an electric kettle when the washing machine is running, and it is difficult with heaters. This is how I got a schedule for the operation of household appliances at home.

    At first we used a fan heater, but it had big disadvantages, it does not heat a large room well, this method is more suitable for heating small rooms. Now we have switched to an infrared heater, it heats the room much faster and is able to heat a larger room, so my preference is of course in favor of infrared heaters.

    Electric heaters should not be left unattended. That is why they cannot be used as the main source of heat at home, because we are often not at home. Moreover, they dry the air and burn oxygen, which is undoubtedly a harmful factor.
    That's why I only use an oil electric heater when I work in the garage in winter, and then I put a bowl of water on it so that the air doesn't dry out too much.

    Currently, the industry offers a wide variety of electric heaters. They all have their pros and cons (drying air, burning oxygen, high or low power consumption, etc.) and they must be used in strict accordance with the instructions and not left unattended. Therefore, considering them as the main source of heating the room is simply not economically profitable and not safe.
    However, they can still be used as a temporary or additional source of heat when the temperature drops significantly, for example in garages or when working in unheated rooms.
