With it, the device will not fail! Inverter voltage stabilizer for a gas boiler

Voltage stabilizer is a device that protects an electricity-dependent boiler heating from power surges.

Since the boiler is complex and expensive equipment, network problems can disrupt its operation and completely disable the control board, the repair of which will cost 20-30% from the cost of the device itself.

The stabilizer helps to avoid such expenses due to its main function: maintaining a constant voltage level in the network.

Inverter voltage stabilizers for gas boilers

Inverter voltage stabilizers have their own characteristics.

Device

The correct name for this type of device is: double conversion stabilizers. The first transformation is alternating current to direct current.

Second: direct to alternating - which is why another name arose: inverter stabilizer.

At the first stage transformation, unstable current from the network enters the rectifier and power corrector of the device, where it is filtered and stabilized, after which it accumulates on the plates of a large number of capacitors.

For stable and long-term operation of the boiler need alternating current with precise sinusoidal characteristics — the more uniform the changes from minimum to maximum current, the better for the expensive electrical equipment of the boiler.

This type of stabilizer produces an ideal sine wave by using an inverter.

The charge from the capacitors (already in the form of direct current) after the first stage of transformation passes here, where it is transformed again - back into alternating current with a constant frequency. 50 Hz and tension 220 V.

This precision is achieved by using a quartz generator. After two stages, stable alternating current with clear sinusoidal changes is supplied to power the heating boiler.

Important! Manufacturer may refuse warranty repair of the boiler, if the power supply was supplied to the latter directly - without using a stabilizer.

Characteristics

  1. Power — the main indicator on which the efficiency of the stabilizer depends. The more electricity the gas boiler consumes, the higher the required power level of the stabilizing system. The models on the market are from 0.5 to 3.5 kW.
  2. Speed of response. This refers to the reaction to changes in the voltage level in the network. The faster the device recognizes a surge, the less the current will be distorted. Since the response speed in inverter stabilizers is instantaneous and the current goes through two stages of transformation, the boiler is completely protected from voltage surges.
  3. Levels of protection. All double conversion stabilizing systems are protected against short circuits, incorrect connections (incorrect polarity) and battery overdischarge.
  4. Weight. It is better not to attach heavy products to the wall, since they are unlikely to withstand a fall from it in case of poor installation. For this purpose, stabilizing systems are specially produced with legs for horizontal installation.

  1. Regulation boundary. The gradation of power required to maintain stable operation of the boiler depends on this characteristic.

Attention! Powerful stabilizers (by 2.5-3.5 kW) cannot be used together with small boilers, since the lower control limits of the former will exceed the required power value of the boilers.

Advantages and disadvantages

The only disadvantage inherent in this type of stabilizers is the high cost, reaching the price of an average boiler: about 50,000 rubles for a large and powerful voltage rectifier.

But the benefits that the homeowner receives with the purchase of this product outweigh this single, but sometimes significant, drawback:

  1. Instant response to voltage fluctuations. It can't be equal 0 ms, but in these models it is close to this value - 5-6 ms.
  2. At the output, the signal has the form of an ideal sinusoid, which significantly extends the service life of the heating boiler, and the stabilization itself occurs constantly due to double current transformation.
  3. The input voltage can be relatively low - 90-100 V, and high - 220-310 V. At the output, the signal is a uniform voltage level required for a specific boiler model (the homeowner regulates this value himself).
  4. If the operating conditions are met, the stabilizer can serve 10-15 years, which corresponds to the average service life of a heating boiler.

How to choose and what to look for when buying

Photo 5

When purchasing an inverter stabilizing device, it is important to compare its characteristics with the values of the heating medium of the boiler.

The main condition of compatibility is compliance with power: A large boiler needs a large stabilizer, a small one needs a small one.

Some inaccuracies in the output voltage can be adjusted, but large discrepancies cannot be corrected. To correctly calculate the voltage that the purchased device is required to produce, the sum of the voltage of all systems connected to it is multiplied by 1.3 to take into account the starting power, and the result becomes a guideline when buying.

For domestically produced equipment It is better to buy Russian stabilizers, since they are adapted to their characteristics and features, but at the same time, foreign boilers will communicate with the latter and work normally. Since the inverter stabilizer has a high cost, before buying you need to make sure of the manufacturer's warranty for its operation.

Features of operation

To extend the service life of an expensive device, it is important to follow the conditions specified by the manufacturer. in the operating manualThe basic requirements that must be met during operation are the same for products of this type:

  1. The network load does not exceed the operating limit of the device for a long time. Due to constant violations of this requirement, the service life of the product is reduced, and a short-term but significant excess can burn out the electrical board if the stabilizer is not protected from short circuits.
  2. The humidity in the room does not exceed 40%. In addition, the room should not be dirty or dusty, since large stabilizing systems use fans to cool the working parts.
  3. The room is equipped with ventilation, otherwise the fans will push the hot air around, heating it up even more.
  4. Temperature compliance. On average, quality products have a working temperature from -10 (-15 for some) to +30-40 °C.

The boiler is safe

Using an inverter stabilizer allows you to fully protect the heating device from voltage surges. Thanks to this, its service life increases and the required temperature of the coolant in the pipes is maintained, and accordingly - in the house. If it is important for the homeowner that his equipment - the boiler and the circulation pump - works long and stably, he will choose a stabilizer to normalize the electric current in the network from which it is powered.
