Electronic stabilizers are modern and reliable devices. They have the highest speed, since the switching of the autotransformer windings is done by thyristors (semiconductors). The entire circuit is controlled by an electronic board that compares the input voltage with the reference voltage and, if necessary, changes it. Such stabilizers can work for a long time under overload, are small in size and will last 10-15 years. But this is the most expensive device of all.

To select a stabilizing device, You need to study the passport of your existing gas boiler. There should also be a nameplate or sticker on the device body indicating its actual power.

Attention! Electric power is often confused with thermal power. They can be easily distinguished by their units of measurement: thermal power is indicated in kW (kilowatt) and lies in the range 10-100 kW, and the electric one W (watt) and is approximately equal 100-200 W.

To calculate the required power of the purchased stabilizer, the parameters of the boiler itself and the external pump are taken into account (if it is built into the boiler, this point can be skipped). Moreover, for the pump, its power should be multiplied on 3, such a “reserve” is needed to account for the starting current, which when the pump starts 2-3 times exceeds the nominal value.

Reference. Electricians do not recommend connecting both a pump and a boiler to one stabilizing device. It is better to use two devices.

Now, adding the obtained values ​​and multiplying them by 1.3, we will get the required power, it is for this that the stabilizer should be designed. Example: boiler power 62 W, pump - 70 W. Calculation: (62+70*3)*1.3=353.6 W.

Features of operating parameters

To select a device with the required parameters, you should find out what spread of U values (actual voltage in the socket) in the existing network, for which it is recommended to measure the voltage manually using a conventional tester.

The measurements are taken on different days and times, which will provide a more accurate range of values, since "jumps" U are related to the overall load experienced by the electrical substation. For example, at night it is less than during the day.

Important! When working with the tester, you must use the AC voltage measurement mode. Otherwise, the device may fail.

Most modern devices are capable of operating at voltage 140-260 V. If during operation U deviates from the maximum permissible value, the built-in protection board will disconnect the boiler or pump from the power supply circuit. And when the voltage returns to normal, it will restart the power supply to consumers.
