A gas boiler is a complex heating equipment with a high level of danger, which is why it is necessary to be careful when installing it.

The main requirements for installation are: permission from the relevant authorities, supervision by gas service specialists and allocation of a separate room under the boiler room.

If you install it yourself, the homeowner is at risk a hefty fine, and they won’t run a pipeline to his house, so he’ll have to use liquefied gas, which is more expensive.

Installation of a gas boiler can only be done in a specially equipped room — boiler room — under the supervision of professionals or with their direct support. In other cases, there is a risk of leakage of hazardous substances and fire.

Selection of materials

List of required materials:

• Sheets of asbestos or basalt wool for thermal insulation of flammable materials, such as the walls of a wooden house.
• Steel sheets, which are required in the amount of one or two pieces to make a shield on the wall to which the gas boiler will be attached.
• Chimney parts, the number of which must be calculated based on the design length: the specialists who drew up the installation project will help with this.
• Pipes for hydraulic piping of the boiler: their number is also calculated in the project.
• The pipes will need adapters, taps and other related materials, but the main one can be called sealant - without it, the probability of leaks is much higher.
• For the correct operation of an electric gas boiler with automatic control, you will need uninterruptible power supply.

Preparing the tools

Although the installation of a gas boiler is not so simple, it does not require a large number of specialized tools. Preliminary work indoors

Before starting the actual installation, it is necessary to carry out some actions to prepare the room for the installation of a gas boiler.

First, it is necessary to treat all the walls of the boiler room. non-flammable resin or heat-protective agent, if they are wooden. If the walls are concrete or brick, then you can do without this precaution.

The unit itself is not mounted directly on the wall, but on a shield, which is constructed from a layer of basalt wool covered with a steel sheet so that there is a distance from each edge of the device to the wall. at least 10 cm of steel sheet.

It is important to note the choice of wall for installation: if it is a thin wooden profile, then a skeleton for strength constructions.

There should be one in the boiler room itself chimney hole (coaxial or classic), which, if missing, must be cut through before installing the boiler. Then it is fixed to the wall bracket, on which the gas boiler will be placed. Usually, a template is supplied with it for easy marking of the mounting holes.

Installation of smoke removal system

When burning inside the firebox, it will be released some amount of carbon monoxide, which can fill the room over time. To avoid this, use ordinary smoke exhausts. It is not necessary to run the pipe through the entire house and then build a chimney to remove the combustion products of the gas. In addition, this threatens to overpay for the amount of material used and insufficient draft due to the too long pipe.

For normal operation of the chimney it is enough to use coaxial system, which is ideal for closed combustion systems.

With this design of the chimney and boiler, combustion waste will be discharged through the outer section of the pipe, and the air to maintain the flame will pass through the inner one.

At the top of the product is placed special hole for smoke removal. From it to the hole made in the wall, it will be necessary to install a coaxial chimney, after which the tightness of the pipe joints both between themselves and with the boiler must be checked.

Wall-mounted boiler piping

It's unlikely that we'll be able to cope here alone, since it will be necessary to both hold the equipment and attach it to the wall. With a partner the work will go much more efficiently and quickly.

The boiler is placed on a bracket attached to the wall, using a plumb line and a building level to ensure that there are no tilts: the equipment must be fixed exactly perpendicular to the floor of the boiler room at a distance not less than 100 cm.

It is connected to the boiler fixed to the wall additional equipment (boiler, generator, expansion tank, uninterruptible power supply, etc.) using pipes and electrical networks.

This process is called creating a boiler piping. Only when hydraulic and electrical piping will be ready, the unit is connected to the heating and connected to the gas main, but gas is not supplied there until checked.
