And according to their characteristics, they are in no way inferior to capital structures.

Main elements camping bathhouse - a thick tent-tent and a good stove that will quickly heat the room. The heater can be purchased in a store or made with your own hands from scrap materials.

Typical designs of stoves for a camping bath and their structure

Among the ready-made collapsible stoves for a bathhouse, the following are popular: two typesPoshekhonka and Bereg. All other designs are variations on this theme.

Poshekhonka

Very compact option with dimensions 300x300x500 mm and weight 8-9 kg. Made of stainless steel with thickness 0.8 mm.

Fully disassemblable design: legs, protective screens, firebox door are removed and placed inside the furnace body. Equipped with a pipe height 1.5 meters on a two-knee joint, which allows you to place it in any convenient place inside the bathhouse.

No heater compensated by a flat top wall on which stones are laid. The design of all poshekhonki uses an original air intake, which supports long-term up to 6 hours of wood burning. Screens on the sides of the firebox protect against accidental contact and improve heat exchange.

Shore

The device of this design differs from the usual poshekhonka. Firstly, the firebox is made of thicker material and has a beveled lower part. Secondly, the solid casing screens strong infrared radiation and serves as a stove. Optimal volume of laid stone 20-25 kg.

For ease of use, it is equipped with a removable door without hinges with an adjustable air supply hole. It can be equipped with a removable water tank. for 12 liters. The legs and pipe are detached and put away in a cover. A spark arrester is installed in the upper part of the firebox, making its operation safe. The mass of the assembled structure only 11 kg.

Ready-made stoves allow you to heat a camping bathhouse to a temperature 80-100 °C for 30-40 minutes and get good steam.

Advantages of metal furnaces:

  • Quick installation on site.
  • Ease of use and cleanliness in the bathhouse.
  • Budget models are inexpensive and accessible to everyone.
  • Can be used in winter, when it is difficult to find a stone for a stove made by hand.
  • Can be used with ready-made portable saunas.

How to make a mobile sauna stove with your own hands

It is not always possible to take a real stove with you. This may be due to weight restrictions on a long hike or a spontaneous desire to set up a bathhouse on the river bank in a beautiful place. Building a simple oven in this case is not a problem.

A minimum of tools is required - an axe, a shovel and large stones in sufficient quantity. The device of this stove will resemble a black sauna.

Manufacturing procedure with your own hands next:

  • First it is marked out place for foundation. Using a shovel, a small hole is dug for the firebox, the depth of which is 20-30 centimeters. The edges of the pit are made slightly beveled so that they do not crumble during heating.
  • Small dry logs are placed into the pit and covered with a layer of medium-sized stones. Then firewood is placed again. The layers alternate until a neat pyramid is formed. It is not worth laying out too many stones - they will take a long time to warm up and it will be necessary to burn a lot of logs.
  • We light the bottom logs and let all the fuel burn out. We periodically adjust the stones so that our structure does not fall apart. In the end, we should have a small pile of well-heated pebbles.

Important! It is best to use even and crack-free stones for the stove. You will have to heat them until they are red hot, because They will be the only source of heat in the bathhouse.

  • We cover the improvised stove with a steam room tent. The frame can be made of thin poles and covered with polyethylene or thick waterproof fabric. Hot water is heated in a bucket or tank directly on the heater during firing.
  • It is possible to build an improved version of such a stove. For this you will need large flat stones. A small depression in the ground is lined with pebbles in the shape of letters "P" and cover with a boulder. Firewood is placed on top. Then it needs to burn out completely. Coals and ashes can be removed so as not to spread dirt around the steam room. The efficiency of this option is higher than that of a simple pile of stones.

Dig a small ditch around the homemade stove to drain water during washing.

Improved design using metal parts

For construction you will need pre-prepared lattice of thick rods or welded structure in the form of a trivet. Building a stove with their help is even simpler: a base of flat stones with a place for the firebox is laid, then a grate or steel rods, and pebbles on top.

Suitable as a material for construction old iron box, piece of masonry mesh, pipe cuttingAny metal frame is filled with stones of the appropriate size and placed on the fire.

After the stove has burned out and heated up to the desired temperature, it can be transferred to our camping bathhouse.

The advantages of this design:

  • Cleanliness in the steam room.
  • Fast production and heating.
  • There is no danger of stones falling off in the bathhouse.
  • Convenient to reuse.

Possible complications

Difficulties may arise due to selection of the necessary building material. For better stability, the stones for laying the stove are chosen flat and without cracks. It is advisable to fill the heater with smooth heavy stones from the river - pebbles, basalt.

Attention! The improvised stove is placed at some distance from the walls of the bathhouse - so as not to burn through the thin canopy.

To avoid spreading ashes and cinders throughout the tent and to avoid spilling them on the hot stones, it is necessary dig around the perimeter of the furnace to a shallow depth. In winter, the bottom of the bathhouse is covered with spruce branches or special heat-insulating mats.

Safe installation of a bathhouse and placement of a stove in it

For metal and homemade stoves The following requirements must be met:

Photo 6

  • A camping bathhouse is always set up on a flat and hard surface near a water source. This is necessary for reliable fastening of the stretchers and installation of the stove in a horizontal position.
  • Try to place the stove away from the entrance. It's more convenient and there's less risk of getting burned.
  • For a metal structure, protective screens on the sides are required. The chimney at the exit from the tent is equipped with a special fireproof insert. A spark arrester is installed at the end of the pipe - so as not to burn through the board. It will act as a deflector - increase traction and protect from precipitation.

A camping bathhouse is not only useful, but also easy for self-installation. Those who love everything ready-made can buy a stove and a sauna in the store, and for romantics there is always an option with a real heater.

We often go out into nature with friends and live there for several days, and since we sometimes want to hunt and take a steam bath, we take with us a homemade collapsible stove made of 2 mm thick stainless steel. The air flow for combustion goes through a damper in the firebox door, the exhaust pipe goes through the tent to the street, sheets of tin are inserted on the sides of the stove itself with a gap of 5 cm and the gap between the stove is filled with sand. True, the stove still remains hot, but the heat is much softer. In 30 minutes, our mini camping bathhouse is ready.

Previously, we simply heated stones in a fire, removed the coals, and put a tent on top. How can you carry a stove on your back during a hike? But a peshkhonka is a very suitable option for a camp bathhouse, I think it will be convenient to go on winter hikes with it, and the surface is quite suitable for cooking.

Two years ago, we went on a hike. We made a bathhouse similar to the photo in the article, only a little bigger. Instead of a stove, we used a homemade potbelly stove (made by my husband, welded from iron, especially for such events). The tent was also homemade from a thick material (I think it was fire-resistant tarpaulin). My husband's friend sewed it (he works in a furniture upholstery shop). The fabric was double. Of course, you can't compare it with a real bathhouse, but it's a great option for a hike. I liked it.

My friends and I go fishing during our vacation and live on the shore almost the entire vacation. But nevertheless, we often use the sauna there, since we always take with us a small homemade stainless steel stove and upon arrival on the shore, first of all, we assemble the stove. There is always water on the shore, and we do not always carry stones with us - we can find enough on the shore, as for firewood, there have never been any problems, since our stove does not need much of it, and armed with an axe, you can quickly chop dry wood.

For our hikes, we have a stove from Bereg made of stainless steel AISI 430. It is very convenient to use: thanks to the protective screens, you do not worry that a burning flame can jump out of the stove, and it is also equipped with a spark arrester. One load of dvor is enough for an average of 5-6 hours of burning, the heat transfer is excellent. The protective screens also protect against burns if you accidentally touch the stove, which is very important in a fairly confined space.

We had the same camp stove made of stainless steel when I worked a month-long shift in the steppe. We heated it with diesel fuel. The bathhouse itself was simply welded from tin and lined with wood inside. And this structure stood on 4 wheels. The heater of a small stove created enough steam and the water also heated up from the stove, only the tank was too small and in order for us all to have enough hot water, it was constantly topped up and the water heated up quickly, after topping up we didn’t even wait for it to warm up.
