You can't take a steam bath without it! Sauna stove with a water tank: which one to choose

Photo 1

A water tank is an integral part of a sauna.

It plays an important role in the design of a sauna stove, because with its help the room is heated and water for washing is created the desired temperature.

Most sauna stoves are equipped with a water tank.

The scheme of a sauna stove with a tank is very simple. We can say that the water heats up in the device itself: the owner only lights the stove and fills containers with cold liquid.

The wood burning stove is usually located in a separate room from the steam room. A chimney runs from it. There is a tank nearby that is filled with liquid.

This tank connected by a pair of tubes with a second tank, which will most likely be located in another room - where they wash themselves. The chimney, together with the damper, goes to the roof.

The water in the tank on the chimney heats up due to the flame from the stove, then the liquid passes through the pipeline into a container located in the washing room.

Before heating the bathhouse both tanks are filled.

Types of tanks in sauna stoves

There are tanks:

  • portable;
  • built into the pipe;
  • overhead.

Round and rectangular extension structures

It is better to install it directly in the washing room.It allows you to bring the liquid to the desired temperature and heat the desired room with it.

This option is suitable for creating dry hot air in a sauna.

The remote tank is being manufactured made of stainless steel. Most often it is round or rectangular in shape.

Its main disadvantages are: complicated installation and high price. However, it is possible to install a shower or a radiator in the bathhouse to heat the room in winter.

Mounted on a pipe

They can be difficult to install due to their volume. Most of the heat in such devices is spent on heating the room.

Variants of forms similar tanks set: they can be square, oval, triangular. Therefore, you can choose the tank that will be easier to install into the pipe in a particular case.

Such tanks easy to move and remove.

They are attached tightly to the body of the stove, and heat is transferred to them from its walls.

In this way, you can heat any volume of liquid, but it is unlikely that you will be able to achieve high temperatures.

It is important that the water heats up quickly, it is necessary large contact area tank and stove.

In this case, the stove cannot be used without water in a barrel.

A hanging tank is suitable if people wash regularly in the bathhouse. more than five people.

Important! The required volume of the container is calculated based on the number of people who will wash in the bathhouse. Per person leaves on average about ten liters, but it is better to calculate the volume with a small reserve.

From different materials

When making bath tanks they use three materials - cast iron, steel or stainless steel:

  • Steel has good thermal conductivity, so it heats up and cools down faster than other materials. Steel products are subject to corrosion, destruction, and in the tank this chemical process will occur at an accelerated rate.
  • Cast iron has a higher density, so such products take comparatively longer to heat up, but the water in them remains hot for a long time. Cast iron tanks weigh a lot, they are much more difficult to install.
  • Stainless steel products They heat up and cool down quickly, but are not subject to corrosion. They are relatively light in weight and easy to install.

Design and selection of sauna stoves

The sauna stove with a tank is also popular because of its attractive appearance.

Such a device can be covered with bricks, so that the structure looks solid. Such a design is suitable for a Russian-style bathhouse. Some owners design the stove as a fireplace.

When choosing a finish, keep in mind that Not all materials are resistant to high temperatures and humidity.

To choose the right design, you need to know how many rooms it will heat. Calculation of the device power: 1 cubic meter is equal to 1 kW.

Fuel type also influences the choice. A stove with a water tank can be:

  • wood burning;
  • gas;
  • combined.

The type of construction also depends on the type and location of the container.

Attention! Bake you can't heat it at full power: This will lead to damage to the metal and the chimney

Before purchasing the device, you need to decide which combustion channel to choose.: regular or extended. It depends on how the stove will be fired up: in one room or in an adjacent room.

How to choose a convenient and safe cistern

When choosing a tank, consider the material of the product and its thickness.: It is better to give preference to stainless steel, thickness - 3-5 mm. The seams must be clear and reliable, otherwise such a container will not last long.

The shape of the tank does not matter much, the main thing is that the installation and use of the device are comfortable.

If the tank is not large enough, it will fill up to the top, which means that boiling water will spill out onto the floor. This is very dangerous. And if the tank is too large, the water will not heat up to the required temperature.

When installing and operating furnaces we must not forget about safety rules: do not stand close to the fire, use flammable mixtures with caution. Take care of your health and the health of your family members.

    My husband and I opted for a remote tank. Of course, it is cheaper than the others, but we did not regret it. Because we have small children who will later be able to do it on their own, so we considered a remote tank to be the safest. We have a tank from Sferra, made of stainless steel (the metal thickness is 0.5 mm on the outside and 0.8 mm on the inside) installed in our sink.
