Gas boilers for heating water can be found not only in a private house, but also in the kitchen of a modern apartment.

As a rule, boilers for the entire heating system of the house are placed in a separate utility room, for example, in the basement.

And when installing a water heating device in the kitchen try to maintain the harmony of the space of the room.

What a kitchen gas boiler might look like

The kitchen gas boiler is made in the form of a parallelepiped, the dimensions depend on its type: the dimensions of the wall-mounted boiler vary about 40x70x30 cm, the floor one is a little larger - usually up to a meter in height.

The body is always done made of metal, and the fittings details - made of non-flammable or refractory materials.

The boiler casing can be:

  • chrome plated;
  • covered with white enamel or with a print on it in the form of a geometric, floral pattern or with an image of kitchen utensils;
  • have a special pattern or even a mirror surface.

Individual parts can be made in the form of levers or buttons. made of high-quality plastic.

How to play with color

To make the kitchen boiler less noticeable, It is recommended to think through the color scheme of the entire space.

For a more harmonious fit into the interior, it is advisable to follow the following rules:

  1. Choose the right palette. For example, a boiler covered with the most common white enamel will fit perfectly into a snow-white kitchen set.
  2. The water heater can be coated independently with heat-resistant enamel for metal of the color that matches the facades of the entire set, by following these steps:
  • sand the body with a grinder or sandpaper, degrease it with acetone or universal solvent (using a spray or a lint-free cloth) and dry;
  • paint in 2-3 layers heat-resistant enamel, using a brush, roller or spray;
  • turn on the heater after the paint has completely dried.

Important! There must be a distance between the boiler body and any furniture surfaces. not less than three centimeters.

How to hide your device behind special panels

You can disguise a kitchen heater and all communications not only with color, but also with special panels, for example, made of plasterboard.

A gas boiler covered with decorative surfaces must have good ventilation. Ideally, the camouflage might look like this:

  1. Have only a front door panel and side walls.

But even in this case it would be good if the front surface was not solid, but, for example, lattice: This will allow normal air access to the fire and create safe conditions for the operation of the gas appliance.

The door with holes can be opened like a regular kitchen cabinet, and in this case the boiler can be used with the door closed. And a solid door can be designed so that it opens accordion: thus, when open, when the gas is burning, it will not take up additional space and interfere.

Attention! All masking devices must be easy and quickly film or do not interfere with free emergency access. Under no circumstances should supply hoses and pipes be walled up.

  1. A kitchen boiler, for example a floor-standing one, can be separated from the rest of the space vertical side walls made of plasterboard: in this case, the boiler will be visually separated from the rest of the room and a door is not required.

Plasterboard walls installed at the kitchen design stage or later, using for this purpose:

  • profiles CW And UW and moisture-resistant plasterboard;
  • direct suspension and universal connector;
  • self-tapping screws with a drill tip and self-tapping screws for fastening plasterboard to metal with a countersunk head and a piercing tip (3.5x35 mm);
  • plastic dowels with impact screws;
  • sealing tape, mineral wool, metal corner;
  • tape measure, hammer drill, plumb line, metal shears;
  • assembly knife, hacksaw, jigsaw.

Finished plasterboard surfaces wallpapered or painted, like ordinary walls in the kitchen.

DIY Decorative Cabinet for Gas Boiler

A special decorative cabinet can be made when ordering a kitchen or by yourself from a ready-made wall cabinet from the set.

The first way self-made will come in handy for those who love open shelves in the interior.

  • Separate with a screwdriver, chisels, screwdrivers the top of the cabinet and the door, since the top will not be needed in principle (the exhaust pipe will pass through it), and a solid door will interfere with ventilation.
  • Next, you need to measure the area., which will be occupied by the supply line, mark it with a pencil and cut out a hole in the bottom or side wall of the box (depending on the location of the supply line) for the gas and water pipes using a saw or jigsaw.
  • Remove the back wall, and place the fasteners for hanging the cabinet on the side walls instead of the back surface of the cabinet. In this case, you will also have to remove the additional shelves. But if they are located low and do not interfere with the boiler, you can leave them.

In the end the cabinet will take the form of a wall-mounted open one, with or without shelves, inside which part of the space will simply be occupied by a gas boiler.

And if you were able to leave one of the shelves in this cabinet, then it can be filled with decorative dishes, convenient kitchen organizers or other interior finds.

They will successfully distract attention from the boiler located there and now much less noticeable.

The second method of production will do for lovers of minimalism in space, will make the gas boiler completely invisible, but the cabinet will only perform one decorative function.

In this case, you need to do the following:

  1. Remove the top and back surfaces of the cabinet, by placing hanging loops on the side walls.
  2. Remove the bottom or part of one of the side walls, simply by cutting out the necessary piece, depending on the location of the pipes. The upper part of the side wall will be needed in any case for hanging the structure.
  3. Hang a cabinet, placing the boiler inside and opening the door only while the device is being ignited.
  4. It wouldn't hurt to make a few holes in this case. in the door using a regular drill or a special cutter (for larger diameter holes). To do this, you must first use a ruler or tape measure and a pencil to mark the symmetrical location of the holes, and then cut or drill the holes, if necessary cleaning their surfaces after drilling and painting them with suitable paint.

In this case, you will get exactly the same wall cabinet as all the others in the kitchen set, but with evenly spaced holes in the door, which will be perceived only as a design technique, and only you will know about their functional load.

Watch the video, which demonstrates the design of a small kitchen with a gas boiler in the form of a slide show.

Each kitchen design has its own method of camouflage

So, in a small kitchen space you can try to fit the gas boiler into the color scheme of the space, initially selecting the colors of the surfaces or adjusting the color of the boiler or furniture later. You can also remake or order one of the wall cabinets in the set as a masking agent for a gas water heater. And in a spacious room for the boiler you can even build additional plasterboard partitions.

An optimally selected design technique will allow you to maintain functionality and not disturb the aesthetics when placing the device.

    A gas boiler is also installed in the kitchen - Novien (single-circuit). Very convenient and quite compact, despite its volume. It was disguised as a kitchen cabinet. The kitchen looks great, the boiler does not interfere at all and does not spoil the interior. It works very well.

    There are many different options for preserving the design in the kitchen now. We have a wall-mounted gas double-circuit boiler NAVIEN. It easily fits into one of the kitchen sections and is not even visible, does not affect the design at all. Our neighbors also have the same, but installed on the wall, not in the kitchen cabinet. And the kitchen is also quite cozy, because the boiler itself is quite beautiful and looks good in such an environment, especially since it does not make noise and does not take up much space.

    Nowadays, the industry produces many different gas boilers for heating a house. During construction, I immediately installed a two-circuit gas boiler NAVIEN, it is installed directly on the wall and the exhaust pipe also goes outside through the wall. And this boiler did not interfere at all when I was installing a built-in kitchen. As a result, it ended up in one of the kitchen cabinets, you can't even see it, and the emergency accumulator and stabilizer also fit there. And when guests come, they don't even see this boiler, they often come and ask, where is your boiler room?
