Methods of heating a country house without a stove: gas, electricity and modern technologies
Vacations at the dacha are one of the ways city dwellers spend their time on weekends or vacations.
Many dacha cooperatives are located far from centralized gas pipelines, which is why the question arises: how not to freeze in the house on a cool night?
Not every modern country cottage provides the opportunity stove heating. Besides, it is far from the fastest and cheapest way to warm up. What are the alternatives?

Heating options for a country house with electricity
Provided that there is electricity at the dacha, various convectors, fireplaces, and wall panels can be heating options.
Electrical units
The easiest way to maintain heat is use of electric heaters, for example, fan heaters, electric fireplaces or convectors.
These units do not require special knowledge for installation — it is enough to simply plug the plug into the socket, and after some time the temperature in the room will begin to rise. All of them operate by using electricity.
By way of convection the air in the house begins to heat up: hot air masses rise up, and when they cool down, they fall again.
Important! It is necessary to carefully monitor whether the electrical network in the house can technically withstand high loads from electrical appliances. If the network is old, the risk of short circuits or blown fuses increases when using several heaters at once.
Such devices have a lot of weight advantages: They do not require complex installation, many models are compact and easy to transport, the air in the room is heated quickly with their help, and some devices can not only heat, but also cool.
Electric heaters are not without their disadvantages: the humidity in the rooms will tend to zero, many units make noise due to the use of a fan, dust and dirt getting on the heating elements can emit an unpleasant odor during operation.
Wall panel
As an alternative to classic electric heaters, ceramic wall panel. The liquid inside it heats up and, with the help of a reflective element, transfers heat from the device body into the room.
Photo 1. Wall ceramic panels in a country house. Compact, but consume a lot of electricity.
Advantages The advantages of such devices are as follows: compactness, no dust is raised around during operation, can be used in the bathroom, installation does not require special skills, oxygen in the room does not burn, and heat is released in two ways (radiant and convection).
Ceramic panels are not without their disadvantages: when broken, they are difficult to repair, cool down quickly and consume a lot of electricity.
Warm floor
Warm floors as an element of heating a summer house have a huge advantage over other methods. It heats the air not locally, but throughout the entire area of the room.
Thus, a person does not feel strong discomfort and heat, and the coolant inside the floor does not need to be heated to high temperatures.
The principle of operation is very simple: inside the floor there is a coolant (liquid, film or electric cable) that accumulates heat and transfers it into the room.
Important! Warm floors can be used as the main heating method only when using a thick accumulating layer. Thus, warm floors "under the tile" or "under the laminate" won't be able to warm up country house.
Warm skirting boards
An effective and unnoticeable way to warm up in a cold room. Heating devices are hidden around the perimeter of the room under decorative strips.
Skirting heating is widely used in rooms with panoramic windows. It can be electric or water. In the first case, each individual element can operate autonomously; in the water method, all parts are combined into a single system.
Photo 2. Warm skirting boards in a room with panoramic glazing are distinguished by their economy and long-term temperature maintenance.
Advantages: uniform heat distribution, maintaining the temperature at one level, economy and invisibility.
Flaws: Until the walls warm up, the room will not become comfortable, so for country houses this heating option will not be relevant, you will have to wait too long for heat, the price is high.
How and what to quickly heat a summer house with if there is gas
In a house without a stove, if there is gas and no electricity, you can use gas guns, boilers, antifreeze system.
Boiler
It's just like part of the general heating system at home, not a separate device.
Heat is generated as a result of gas combustion, then transferred to a heat exchanger, which then distributes it to the heating system. Such a system can be regular radiators.
Advantages: You can connect a boiler so that your country house has hot water and a regular source of heat.
Flaws: the device takes up a lot of space (except for wall-mounted units), leaks may form, constant monitoring of the technical condition is required, increased level of danger due to the use of gas.
Gas gun with cylinder
The operating principle of such a unit is simple: When fuel burns, heat is generated, which is blown into the room. To operate the device, it is not enough to have only a gas cylinder, a source of energy is needed, from which the gearbox and fan will be powered.
Advantages: an economical way to warm up, small dimensions, easy to transport, no exhaust or unpleasant odor when burning gas.
Flaws: not suitable for continuous heat source, increased hazard level due to use of gas.
Antifreeze
Antifreeze is a liquid that is poured into heating pipes instead of regular water, it is not subject to freezing at low temperatures, which protects against the risk of a breakthrough.
For country houses that are not used all year round, this is an excellent solution.
Flaws: the heat capacity of antifreeze is less than that of water, a more powerful boiler is required for heating, antifreeze leaks easily, therefore all heating system units must be located outside the casing so that they can be inspected and repaired in case of a leak.
Required powerful pump, which will drive antifreeze through pipes. When it is used instead of water, corrosion quickly appears on the metal elements of the heaters. Over time, the coolant needs to be changed, which leads to additional costs.
Infrared heat sources
All infrared sources work on the same principle: It is not the air in the room that heats up, but the objects. By giving off accumulated heat, they maintain temperature balance. The sources are IR films And conventional IR heaters.
Photo 3. Infrared film, mounted on the ceiling and walls, well suited for heating a country house.
Advantages: economy and energy saving, can be mounted even on the ceiling and save room space, when the required temperature is reached, the device switches off automatically, easy to dismantle and transport to another place. The microclimate in the room is not disturbed, oxygen does not burn. Heating occurs quickly, immediately after turning on the device.
Flaws: electromagnetic radiation does not always have a positive effect on human health. The IR device itself is expensive. It is also not profitable to use only IR heaters as the only source of heat.
Terrace and pool heating system without a stove
When choosing a heating device for heating a swimming pool, it is important to consider that the humidity in the room is high, so the use of electrical appliances will be unsafe.
It is recommended to purchase for this purpose ceramic panels. They are not afraid of humidity and quickly warm up the room. It is also appropriate to use gas boiler in combination with conventional radiator pipes.
To heat a summer terrace it is appropriate to use only point heat sources. There is no point in constantly heating an open outdoor space. In this case, it is recommended to use gas or electric heat guns, which will prevent summer residents from freezing with a stream of warm air.
Reference! You can also use IR devices, which will warm individual objects and transfer heat to a person.

Which method to choose?
Selecting one or another heating option directly depends on the type of premises. The best solution for maintaining a comfortable temperature in a summer house is to use a gas boiler. This is an economical and reliable method in the absence of stove heating. The other listed options are best suited as an additional source of heat.
Please note that for faster heating of the room it is necessary to ventilate for at least 5 minutes.
