Gas cheap, therefore it is a popular type of fuel for heating. People want to install gas boilers in their apartments so that they have heating and hot water all year round.

But There are some difficulties when installing a heating device, related to the compliance of the premises with fire safety standards, and the collection of various documents.

Also, installation is carried out only by those organizations that have certificates for such activities and qualified specialists.

Rules for installing a gas boiler in an apartment building

To install it is necessary to follow some rules, know the features, have at least basic experience working with such equipment.

Gas boilers can be wall-mounted or floor-mounted. For apartments, wall-mounted devices are most often chosen.

By execution: single-circuit (heating), double-circuit (heating + hot water). Also, units can be naturally aspirated or turbocharged.

Combustion chambers are qualified by open or closed type. In the first case combustion products and smoke come out on their own, in the second - using a fan.

If the wall is made of flammable material, the installation site must be pre-insulated. The unit itself should not fit tightly against the wall, it is moved away at least 2 cm from it.

If the connection is made to an old chimney, then it is necessary clear it in advance. The boiler is connected to the chimney only by a metal pipe. It withstands high temperatures and mechanical impacts. It interacts less with condensate and combustion products.

The vertical section of the connection from the boiler to the bend must be not less than 2 connection diametersThe pipe is made with a slope from the bend onwards.

Required documents

There is no exact list of required documentation. Some places may require additional information. But basically it's:

• Conclusion, which states the possibility of disconnecting the apartment from central heating.
• Technical requirements for connection to gas supply. An application is submitted to the gas service indicating the expected volume of gas use.
• Installation project. It shows diagrams of how the boiler and gas pipeline will be installed. Only design engineers with a license for this type of activity have the right to prepare such a project. Then the project undergoes approval in "Gorgaz" or another similar service.
• Documents for gas heater (technical passport, operating manual, certificates, expert assessment data that the device meets all criteria).

Selecting a gas boiler and equipment for it

A dual-circuit wall-mounted unit is often chosen because a single-circuit unit cannot meet all needs, and a floor-mounted unit has too much power and is more suitable for a private home.

When choosing, several criteria are taken into account at once:

1. power;
2. type of device (floor or wall);
3. burner type (open or closed);
4. number of contours;
5. dependence on electricity;
6. additional equipment (adjustments, display, security systems);
7. Manufacturer and price.

Installation

The device is unpacked, the integrity of the kit is checked according to the list attached to the equipment. And also inspect the appearance and check the technical specifications.

Actions:

• Attach to the wall at the location of the unit refractory material.
• Prepare for installation. Using water pressure, clean the inlet pipes from debris particles.
• Install a filter to clean the liquid, shut-off devices before and after the filter on the water supply pipe to the boiler.
• Install a chimney. Its diameter should not be less than that specified in the instructions. The cross-section is the same as the opening of the chimney of the boiler. The chimney should rise above the roof more than 0.5 mIt is good that it is made of steel and cylindrical in shape.

• Check the draftWhen the draft decreases, the automatic system should be activated and stop the boiler operation.

• Connect the boiler to the automatic device to protect against overloads, and it to the electrical network.

Connection

Before connecting everything the heating system must be thoroughly flushed water pressure or other special means intended for this purpose. This is done to avoid dirt and debris getting into the boiler or pump, which can lead to a breakdown.

It does not matter what material the heating system pipes are made of, but metal pipes must be connected to the device for supply and return. If the boiler is double-circuit, then pressure reducer.

In the case when the heating goes only to the warm floor, a heater is installed on the supply pipe special pump. And if there is at least one hot radiator circuit, then the pump is cut into the return line near the boiler. A filter is installed before the pump.

When the pump is installed on the water supply, the cleaning filter is placed on the return line.

The expansion tank should be located immediately after the gas heater.In some wall-mounted gas boilers it is provided by the design.

Examination

Checking the heating device before starting it up consists of a primary visual inspection of all connections and grounding. Next, "feeding" is carried out. A special valve creates pressure in the water supply, not exceeding 6 atm. Without adding water, the pressure in the boiler tank is checked (not less than 1 atm). The pump plug must be unscrewed and the shaft must rotate freely.

After these steps, fill the system with water and release air from it. Adjust the pressure up to 1-1.5 atm. Inspect visually for leaks.

With the gas turned off, start the heating mode.

Bleed the system again and adjust the pressure. up to 1-1.5 units.

Water from the hot tap should flow continuously and without air.

Open the gas supply. Check for leaks with soap solution. Start the boiler.

Check the unit for safety.
