Warmth in the soul and in the house! Russian stove with a firebox is the best choice for heating
Today the oven is used not only for heating the room, but also for cookingThe devices are usually fired with wood, mainly pine, oak, aspen, birch or alder, coal or wood waste.
It is interesting that earlier, instead of one heating device, people created two: a large one and a small one, which they called under the fireboxIt distributed air evenly throughout the rooms, especially in large houses.
Features of devices with a sub-firebox
The diagram of a Russian stove with a firebox includes: cast iron stove, where you can cook various foods, as well as crucible, designed for cooking traditional Russian dishes and drying mushrooms or berries. The base of the device is niche-under-stove, which is heated from above and from the sides. On the sides there is firewood shed, where the material that will later be used to fire the stove should be stored.

Advantages of the heating device:
- long term use (more than 25 years);
- simultaneous heating of several rooms;
- an unusual solution for the interior.

Flaws:
- the need to hire a master for masonry;
- high consumption of firewood.
Furnace Projects
It is better to choose a stove project with a firebox at the planning stage of a residential building, to tie the foundation of the device to the building elements in order to create furnace openings in the ceiling and attic floor. It is necessary to take into account fire safety regulations. The customer can choose the type and design of the furnace, as well as determine its functionality.
Among the most popular heating device projects are:
- Barbecue ovens. They are installed in garden gazebos, residential buildings and public catering establishments.
- Stoves and fireplaces. The fireplace instantly heats the room, and the stove helps to retain heat for a long time.
- Complexes - a combination of 2 or more furnaces. Their advantage is the ability to heat even a large area.
- Furnaces with bottom and side heating. Such devices have a pipe channel in the center of the smoke collector.
- Stoves with a water heating boiler. Convenient if the house has a large number of rooms.
- Simple heating devices.
- Heating and cooking structures. Most often, they have a two-tier smoke circulation system. The smoke gases first enter the lower part of the stove, and then the upper one. This type of heating helps to retain heat for a long time.
- Bath stoves.
When choosing a project you need to pay attention to the details: for specific dimensions indicated in the diagram, for a complete and accurate description of each step of construction, for comments and explanations.
To make it easier to build a stove, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the designs of the devices in magazines and books such as:
- "House";
- "Myself";
- "Do it yourself";
- "Advice from professionals";
- A.M. Shepelev "Masonry of stoves with your own hands";
- Ya.G. Porfiryev "Stove works";
- P.I. Voropai "How to build a stove".
Selection of material
The following materials are required for construction:
- Red ceramic brick. It is necessary to check in advance that it is well-fired, has a high density quality. It is especially important to select the right bricks for the hearth (even, smooth, of the same height).
- Solution. It should contain sifted fatty clay, river sand and clean water.
- Cast iron parts: firebox, blower, cleanout, ventilation doors, grate, damper, valve, stove and two burners, hot water box.
Preparing the site
The foundation must be made in such a way that it could withstand heavy loads. That is why it is better to design it in parallel with the house itself, since it will be difficult to build a foundation in an existing structure.
Professionals usually adhere to the standard technology: they make a ledge between the edge of the foundation and the masonry not less than 0.5 m.
After the structure is ready, it is necessary to lay cardboard impregnated with a special composition in two layers as a waterproofing material. To achieve the best result, choose strong bricks without cracks, make thin seams (up to 5 mm).
Order of the device
Laying layers in rows:
1. Laying of overheated bricks without ties on the material, which will protect the structure from water penetration.
2. Solid bricks on the sides of the future hearth must be placed on edge.
3. Recommended installation of the blower door.
4. Regular brickwork. It is important not to forget to leave a gap for the cleaning channel.
5. Continuation of the cleaning channel. Construction of the base for the arches.
6. Narrowing of the cleaning channel And grate installation.
7-8. Placing the steel sheet. Securing the wire for a tight fit. firebox door.
9. Creation sand backfill. The hearth bricks are installed in a full row on the edge.
10-11. Installation from above hob. On the edge of the hearth you need to lay out bricks, divided in half.
12, 13, 14. Rows are laid out similar to the previous ones.

15. Raising the arch.
16-18. Laying the knitting metal wire. Narrowing of the arch.

22. Rise haila.
23-31. Formation of the pipe channel. Installation blower and dampers.
Difficulties in DIY work
A number of difficulties that you may encounter during construction:
- Insufficient knowledge of the stove craft.
- Delays in erecting the device due to lack of time or experience.
To facilitate the construction process you need to:
- Lay bricks only one at a time. If you are a beginner, it is better to lay each new row on a dry, flat surface.
- Clean the brick thoroughly before laying. Use a hair brush to remove crumbs and dust.
- Dip the ceramic brick in clean water for a few seconds, then shake it off. The rule does not apply to fireclay bricks.
- If the brick is not placed correctly the first time, it must be removed. clean off the solution and put it back.
- Don't forget that the removed solution is not suitable for work.

Results
If you do not plan to use the Russian stove as your main heating system, the device can be complement the interior of the houseIn order to make the work of creating the device easier, it is necessary to adhere to the basic rules, make drawings in advance and decide which project you will rely on.
Comments
An even bigger disadvantage is the fact that the stove takes a long time to heat up. And due to the particular location of the firebox and smoke ducts, it does not provide heating of the space directly above the floor.
